Frequently Asked Questions
We believe in transparency. Here are straightforward answers to the questions prospective clients most often ask.
We generally work with clients who have $500,000 or more in investable assets. However, we evaluate each relationship individually. If you are approaching that threshold or have complex planning needs, we encourage you to reach out for a conversation. We are occasionally able to accommodate clients below this minimum if there is a clear path to growth.
We operate on a fee-only basis, meaning we are compensated directly by our clients rather than through commissions or product sales. Our standard fee structure is a percentage of assets under management, typically ranging from 0.65% to 1.00% annually depending on the size and complexity of the relationship. Financial planning engagements may also be offered on a flat-fee basis. We believe this structure aligns our interests directly with yours.
Yes, always. As a registered investment advisor, we are legally and ethically bound to act as a fiduciary at all times. This means we are required to put your interests ahead of our own in every recommendation we make. We do not sell proprietary products, earn commissions, or accept compensation from third parties for recommending specific investments. This commitment to fiduciary duty is not a marketing claim—it is the legal standard to which we hold ourselves.
We conduct formal portfolio and planning reviews on a quarterly basis. These meetings can be held in person at our Boston office or via secure video conference. Between scheduled reviews, we are available by phone or email for any questions or concerns. We also proactively reach out when market conditions, tax law changes, or life events warrant a conversation outside of the regular schedule.
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Effective financial planning requires coordination across disciplines. We regularly collaborate with our clients’ CPAs, estate attorneys, insurance professionals, and other advisors to ensure every aspect of your financial life is aligned. If you do not currently have these professionals on your team, we can provide referrals to trusted partners.
Three things set us apart. First, our team’s depth of credentials and experience across investments, tax, and estate planning allows us to address complex situations without outsourcing critical thinking. Second, our client-to-advisor ratio is deliberately kept low, ensuring you receive genuine personal attention rather than a scaled service model. Third, we are privately held with no outside investors or corporate parent—our only obligation is to you.
